Dundalk Stadium was a spectacle of elegance, excitement and entertainment, as racegoers turned out in style for the annual Ladies Day celebration on Sunday 12th July 2026. Attracting crowds from Co. Louth and beyond, families and friends gathered under the glorious sunshine and blue skies to experience the thrill of dual racing, great music, and a buzzing atmosphere from early afternoon to late evening.
The Ladies Day programme featured an exciting mix of Horse and Greyhound Racing, with the renowned Time Dundalk International proving to be a standout event of the day. Attendees witnessed Ballycowen Frank emerge victorious amongst an outstanding lineup, snatching an impressive new track record of 29.26. The winning greyhound was trained by Michael Donovan and owned by Debbie Doyle and Dean Harpur.
The eagerly anticipated Best Dressed competition, kindly sponsored by The Fairways Hotel and Border Boutique Hire, proved to be an equally glamorous centrepiece of the day. Judged by the wonderful Grainne McCoy and Suzanne Ryan Millinery, there was an array of elegant fashion and vibrant colours on display, and for Maksuda Akhter, it proved to be third time lucky.
Attending Dundalk Stadiums Ladies Day for a third year, she captured the judge’s attention with her striking ensemble and attention to detail. Her standout look, featuring a dress designed by Six Roads Womenswear, complimented with a bespoke hat from Fiona Rafter Millinery, earned her the title of Best Dressed Lady 2026, emerging victorious amongst four other exceptional finalists.
From start to finish, the stadium was bustling with energetic guests and a vibrant atmosphere on and off the track, making the day a standout fixture in its summer calendar. The team at Dundalk Stadium extends its congratulations to all competition finalists and race winners, and would like to thank all those who attended and showed their support for yet another spectacular Ladies Day.
