DUNDALK STADIUM PRESENTS DAMIEN DEMPSEY
"The Bob Marley of Ireland" - The Times
Dundalk Stadium has been known to tally up quite a few number ones in their relative infancy having secured the 1st all-weather race track in the country, the 1st floodlit race track and for those that aren't familiar the 1st dual horse and greyhound racecourse in the world.
Not resting on their laurels they have recently announced details of the first concert to take place at the track when Damien Dempsey will rock the racecourse after horse racing on Friday 1st October.
Emma Meehan, Sales & Marketing for Dundalk Stadium states: "We have been credited with becoming the 1st all-weather racecourse in Ireland and the 1st combined horse and greyhound stadium in the world clearly positioning Dundalk and Co. Louth on the world racing map. With the horse track opening in September 2007, the positioning of the Stadium as a cultural venue for music and arts is a natural progression in the Stadium's overall strategy. This concert is the 1st undertaking in fulfilling this vision with a view to rolling out a cohesive programme of music and arts for the 2011 period.
She added: "The normal cover charge of €15 for racing applies to this event so in essence everyone attending can enjoy the added bonus of a concert post-racing at no additional cost. Damien is the quintessential Irish singer songwriter and we are privileged to have him take part in our race night. This will be a ticket only event and numbers are limited so we encourage all people interested to purchase their tickets from the track."
Tickets are on sale at Dundalk Stadium from Sunday 15th August at 'The Bar One Racing Dual Race Day.'
