Betting at Dundalk Stadium

Tote Betting

Tote is short for totalisator and Tote Betting is similar to the Lotto. It works like this: all the stakes on a race are pooled; a deduction is made to cover costs and Totes contribution to racing. The remainder of the pool is divided by the number of winning units to give a dividend which is inclusive of a €1 stake.

In other words, Tote customers bet into a common pool, betting against one another, whereas in bookmaking, they bet against the bookmaker. Tote odds may fluctuate according to the pattern of betting and the amount of money staked on each greyhound. Betting ceases at the "off" of each race.

On-Course Bookmakers

There are bookmakers at Dundalk Stadium who add to the attraction and excitement of a day at the races. Each bookmaker will display his odds for each race on his board - keep a close eye though, odds change quickly and you must place your bet when they're favourable!

Bar One Racing On-Site Betting Shop

Bar One Racing betting shop is adjacent to the horse parade ring and is operational on race nights.
